About

Visionary Art is an independent cultural review with a small gallery in Ruthin, Denbighshire. We write about contemporary art, film, design and culture from somewhere that is not London, which turns out to change what you notice.

What we cover

Exhibitions and the people who make them, film and theatre, design and architecture, and the arguments that run underneath all of it. We are as interested in a regional gallery finding its audience as in a blockbuster show at a national museum, and we say plainly when something does not work.

How we work

  • Coverage is not for sale. No payment, gift or hospitality buys a review, a rating or a mention.
  • Images are used under their own licences and credited where a credit is required.
  • We correct mistakes on the page where they were made, rather than quietly.
  • Where a piece involves someone we have a connection with, we say so in the piece.

The gallery

Visionary Art Gallery, Ruthin, Denbighshire, Wales. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 to 17:00. Admission is free.
